QA for Healthcare App: Features, Compatibility, and User Interface

The application* allows users to access their health data in a digital format, store and manage it securely, as well as share it with healthcare professionals and trusted ones. The product was designed by a German nonprofit organization that works on digital health solutions.

There are medical reports of different formats, and users should be able to view the information regardless of a file format or a device they have. The application processes sensitive data, thus it was important to verify that only authorized users get access only to the shared document, not all the other personal and health data.

• Since the medical reports come in different formats, the team needed to run cross-browser, cross-platform, and usability testing on real devices. It was necessary to make sure that the files of all formats and sizes were displayed correctly and were readable in different OS, browsers, and screens.
• We joined the development process at an early stage. QA engineers started to write test cases as soon as they received product designs. Thus, we had an opportunity to estimate potential issues in the early phases of development.
• The QA team partially runs security testing, analyzing the sharing functionality and user access options.
